Orkney and Shetland MP, Alistair Carmichael, has today called for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza to allow aid to reach Palestinian civilians and to support the release of Israeli hostages taken after Hamas’s terrorist attacks.

McArthur raises Hamnavoe cover failure in parliament

At General Questions in the Scottish Parliament today, Orkney’s MSP Liam McArthur challenged the Scottish Government over its failure to provide a replacement vessel on the Stromness-Scrabster route while MV Hamnavoe was away on refit earlier this year.
